Quenshaun Watson Running back, 5-10, 175 Athens, Ga. (Clarke Central) Committed: Nov. 22, 2011 Prospect Rankings 247Sports: 3-star Rivals: 3-star Scout: 3-star 247Sports Rating: 82 (No. 72 running back, No. 98 prospect in Georgia) The skinny: No matter who you talk to, they’ll all say the same thing about Watson. He’s fast. Really, really fast. A two-time 1000-yard rusher who averaged 8.4 yards per carry this past season, Watson has been timed at 10.58 seconds in the 100-meter dash. His role is certain to be at running back, but his speed could allow him to take on a hybrid role of sorts, kind of like Devrin Young in 2011. Watson’s commitment marked the second year in a row that coach Derek Dooley pulled a player from his high school alma mater. (Offensive lineman Alan Posey was last year’s.)
