Knoxville Garden Club • 2012 Talahi Plant Sale • Knoxville, TN

Considered to be the oldest plant sale in the are, the Knoxville Garden Club and the Garden Study Club will have their 48th annual Talahi Plant Sale on Saturday, April 14th, from 9:00 am-2:00 pm at Lakeshore Park. This year’s theme “Can You Dig It” emphasizes the unique aspect of our sale in which over 1000 of the plants have been lovingly grown and dug from the member’s gardens. We will be offering several varieties of these treasured plants in our “Collector’s Corner.” Garden enthusiasts will be able to purchase hundreds of other perennials, annuals, wildflowers, and herbs. The perennials area will feature Lenten roses, astilbe, bleeding heart, brunera, heucheras, baptisia, and climbing hydrangea. Wildflowers will have Jack in the Pulpit, trillium, poppies, and several varieties of ferns. Annuals will include a wide variety of plants, most of which are locally grown. Herbs will have over 35 varieties of flowering, culinary and medicinal herbs for sale with multiple varieties of favorites such as rosemary, sage, lavender, and thyme. “Ask an Expert” will have some of Knoxville’s most experienced gardeners available to answer questions during the sale. If you love peonies, the Talahi Plant Sale is for you! We are pleased to have bare root peonies that have been propagated by Kathleen Gagan of Peony’s Envy, which is the largest grower of peonies in the United States.
